Cave No.3 is almost entirely natural basalt (this is a "living stone" and is difficult to excavate).

To the left we have the popular meeting place, a communal laundry for the families who lived here.  To the right, taking advantage of the moisture, a garden of ferns surround the image of the Virgen del Carmen, who was named as the last owner of these caves. 

This image should not be confused with the famous image of the Virgen de la Cuevita, and Patroness of Artenara, this cave church awaits your visit a few hundred metres further up the hill.
